Sound pauses in application due to system performance below requirements
Cause:
Pauses in sound in application are caused by system performance below requirements for that application.
Solution:
Improve system performance.
Suggested temporary fixes:
1) Remove any TSR (terminate-and-stay-resident) programs that also use CPU time.
NOTE: A TSR (terminate-and-stay-resident) program is a program that runs in the background, constantly looking for a certain condition, such as scanning for viruses every time you download a file or a calendar that sounds a reminder at a pre-determined time. The program becomes dormant, if you will ('terminate')and waits ('stays resident') until something happens to wake it up.
2) Run only one Windows application at a time.
3) Check with the sound card manufacturer to obtain the most current drivers for that sound card.
